Weekly Review: Labour Day Life Under Construction
How was your long weekend? Was it great? Did you go camping or have a barbeque? Did you go see family or friends? Did you have fun of any kind?
My weekend was pretty good until that end part. That Labour Day part. It was great and then shit got off the hook stupid.
Observe:
.
My dog is the singular cause of my growing post-traumatic stress disorder reactions. All is quiet and peaceful until I breath/step/move/do-nothing the wrong way. Then I am assaulted with the canine equivalent of Bouncing Betty – a terrifying thing that leaps at my face and explodes with wiener-dog rage. She can go from sleep to hate-barking in a picosecond. I jump/cringe/curl into a fetal ball every time.
.
No we don’t own a convertible – I just got too lazy to finish drawing the car. And yes, we got rear-ended. We were on our way to pick up school supplies for the kid and some lady decided stopping was a multiple-choice option instead of a must.
.
The final straw was the shopping cart that rammed into me while I held hot coffee. I got coffee all over my hand. This was twenty minutes after we were rear-ended.
Then the day ended. Thank you, sweet baby Jesus.
Weekly Review: Labour Day Spending
I stayed true to the $50 weekly challenge and stayed within my budget last week. I did this by:
– Made coffee at home in a to-go cup, saved $2 a day (@ 5x week, $9.00 )
– Packing my breakfast and lunch every day, saved $5 a day (@ 3x week, $15.00)
– Signed up for a mystery shop to have a meal at a restaurant, saved $40.00
– Using Scene points (thru Scotiabank) to get a free movie ticket, saved $12.50
Total savings for the week = $76.50
Thanks for stopping by!
