Who hasn’t heard that recycling can make you money? Or save you money? Whether that’s returning bottles or selling off some junk in your garage, there’s a tonne of tips out on how to go green in some pretty creative ways. Recently, my child cleaned up and “recycled” the lid of our dish soap container which left us with a 4 litre bulk thing of Dawn dish soap and a lidless counter bottle.
So in the spirit of going “green” (trailer park style) or ultimate laziness (who wants to get another dish soap container?), we solved our lidless problem. My husband used his elite engineering skills to create a new lid out of duct and masking tape. Using a clever combination of both materials, he was able to devise a method to control the flow rate of soap using a very complicated equation involving air/fluid exchange (aka stabbing a hole in the top with a pencil). Observe the genius below:
