Friday’s Sweet Savage Love: Volume 3

sweetsavagelove-vol3Hi everyone! I ran late with Friday’s Sweet Savage Love so this installment is on Saturday instead. It’s been an exciting week here at Cents, Sense & Sensibility, I announced our plans to sell our house and move to the United Kingdom. Happily, the offer went through and we’ll be heading overseas mid-March.

Afford Anything’s Pauline Paquin leads the charge this week with Warning: These 22 unplanned emergencies could bust your budget. Not only is it a great roundup of things to watch out for, it also landed me a sweet link back to my site on Huffington Post.

Hayley from A Disease Called Debt shares her experiences with learning how to save more money in her post How we save 50% of our income. They went from not being able to save a penny to piling on the pounds in no time!

Mrs. Frugalwoods warns us about The Danger of Comparison. It might be human nature but comparing ourselves against those with bigger houses and nicer cars will only lead us to unhappiness. My favourite piece of advice from this post is when Mrs. Frugalwoods talks about fighting her urge to compare her skills, abilities and outputs to other people. I always fall into this trap and love her outlook on it.

Money from Budgets Are Sexy nails it with his We Sold Our House! No More Mortgage! I love this piece because it perfectly echoes how I feel about selling our house. Over our brief period of home ownership, we paid out $15,000 in home repairs and countless thousands in taxes, utilities, and loans. I’m happy to be done and so, by the sounds of it, is J. Money. Congrats buddy!

Sweet Savage Love: Having the Cowboy’s Baby

And now for the best part of Sweet Savage Friday, my romance pick of the week. Nobody can beat this little honey of a read. Check it out!

“I’m…pregnant?”

How can that be? Well, Carly Rayburn knows how—but she’d been told she could never have children. Even more shocking is returning to her family ranch to tell the daddy-to-be, sexy cowboy Ian McAllister. Carly has dreams to reach country music stardom; he has his boots planted firmly in the Texas soil. But they share two things: undeniable heat…and, soon, a baby.

Ian never forgot Carly, nor his plans to buy her ranch. There he envisions raising a family…with the right woman and at the right time. Till Carly drops her bombshell. When his head clears, he may be thrilled to be a daddy, but can he lasso the starry-eyed singer and become a husband?

Well, that’s it for now. Have a great weekend.
