Wouldn’t it be great to save the world – one child at a time – and get a free gym membership at the same time? This week’s money saving tip involves helping others and saving money at the same time, how’s that for a feel good recipe?
Money Saving: Find creative solutions
The YMCA in my home province offers an awesome deal – volunteer with them for a couple hours a week and get a free gym membership! Take advantage of their amazing facilities, often with swimming pool, fully equipped work out facilities, running track, aerobic rooms, and full basketball court-sized gym. Did I mention steam rooms and/or hot tubs?
Money Saving: How to make it work for you
This could easily vary from province to province – or city to city – but the concept remains the same. Many gyms have childcare services, or administrative tasks, or other ways that you might be able to offer your time in exchange for a free membership. The easiest targets will probably non-profit agencies and clubs that offer fitness facilities as part of their services. These agencies will probably be the most amenable to doing a volunteer/gym access exchange in your neighbourhood. So do some research and give your local non-profit a call to see what deal you can arrange!
